The first PR campaign of 2016 has been a lovely local story – announcing the 116th anniversary of Birmingham Icknield Male Voice Choir, inviting men to join, have a crash course in singing, and then perform in the group’s St George’s Day concert in April.
The choir, which was formed in 1900, is based at St Chad’s Cathedral, just round the corner from us – which means it’s been perfect for us to popping over to see the rehearsals and meet the men behind the award-winning group.
We’ve been busy sharing their big anniversary milestone with the local press, and have already secured coverage in The Birmingham Mail and city blog Brum Hour which is attracting new members. A feature with BBC WM will be coming soon!
This week (in between their vocal exercises) the men posed for photographs for their website and social channels – here’s a group of them proudly wearing their choir sweaters! They are a lovely bunch and we’re very happy to be working on such an uplifting project.
They say singing is good for the body and for the soul – so if you’re a man…you know where to sign up now!
