Hola! It’s been 2 weeks since the opening of the hugely anticipated Grand Central! Not only does it boast a range of premium shops, it is also home to Tapas Revolution – a contemporary tapas bar concept offering dishes cooked with the finest ingredients, sourced from small artisan producers in Spain. The Big Cat team have been hard at work providing marketing and PR services to help spread the revolution and we’ve been enjoying every minute.
Spanish-born chef and larger-than-life personality, Omar Allibhoy has chosen to home his fourth Tapas Revolution restaurant in the dynamic surroundings of Grand Central Birmingham. Dubbed the ‘Antonio Banderas of cooking’ by Gordon Ramsey, he’s a man on a mission to bring the joy of authentic tapas food to the UK.
The menu takes inspiration from the young chef’s family recipes and the culinary culture of his hometown, Madrid. Featuring a copper-topped bar, open kitchen and marble tables, the new Birmingham tapas bar wouldn’t look out of place in the busy streets of Spain. Omar says: “tapas is more than food, it’s part of everyday culture: food and life are always best shared”.
Tapas Revolution has a dedicated team here at Big Cat, consisting of Tamara Milne De Souza, PR Senior Account Manager, Victoria Bishop, PR Account Executive and Keshia Chauhan, Marketing Executive. In the run up to the launch, we orchestrated a stunt involving Omar Allibhoy meeting the Birmingham Bull which led to a huge amount of engagement across social channels. The PR team are regularly writing press releases as well as maintaining ongoing communication with local media in order to secure coverage in national and regional press. And, what a good job they have done – here is some recent coverage which they have secured:
Big Cat are very proud to be working so closely with Tapas Revolution on their exciting venture and it comes as no surprise that Omar has been elevated to celebrity status with a feature on ITV Central News discussing why he decided to bring Tapas Revolution to the heart of Birmingham.
The successful launch has got the Big Cat Team in the mood for a Spanish Fiesta. No prizes for guessing where we will be heading when we finish work…
