This month has been a busy one for Big Cat’s PR team, and one project we’ve been working hard on is Who Do You Think You Are? Live, which launched on the 18th April at Birmingham’s NEC.

The event, which took place between Thursday 18th and Sunday 19th April, saw Genealogy enthusiasts from all over the UK make a beeline for the Midlands to attend the UK’s largest family history exhibition.

Now in its ninth year, Who Do You Think You Are? Live’s 2015 event moved outside of London for the very first time and welcomed attendees from all over the country to the NEC in Birmingham.

Guests were treated to a packed schedule that featured over 150 talks and seminars, workshops delivered by ancestry experts, and Q&A sessions with celebrities. Reggie Yates, Alistair McGowan and Tamzin Outhwaite all spoke about their experiences of discovering their family history when they appeared on the BBC hit TV show Who Do You Think You Are? Big Cat’s Tamara and Aree managed to steal Reggie away for a quick photo!

There were over 120 specialist historical organisations at the show, these included photo daters, military history experts, the heirloom detective Eric Knowles – famous for his role on the BBC Antiques Roadshow, as well as over 35 local family history societies. The 1939 Tea Rooms ensured delegates were transported back in time to pre-WWII, and Sir Tony Robinson made a guest appearance to talk about his results from the new AncestryDNA kit that was launched at the event.

Our PR Senior Account Manager Tamara gave it a go herself with these pictures of her Grandma and her Grandma’s parents from the mid 1900’s.
